Head of Agriculture
Harvest Moon – Forth, Tasmania
Harvest Moon is a vertically integrated vegetable business operating across Tasmania and interstate markets. We supply major retailers, export partners and foodservice customers, with a strong focus on productivity, quality and long-term sustainability.
We are seeking an experienced Head of Agriculture to lead our production operations team based in Forth, North West Tasmania.
This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing agricultural performance across the business. You will lead crop planning, agronomy, production systems and sustainability outcomes while ensuring supply aligns with commercial demand.
Working closely with the Managing Director, sales team, agronomists, contract growers and operational teams, you will play a key role in shaping the future capability of our production operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead agricultural strategy aligned with business objectives

Manage farm managers, agronomists and production teams across multiple sites

Work closely with contract growers to support production outcomes and supply alignment

Oversee crop planning, yield performance and resource optimisation

Drive continuous improvement through technology, data and agricultural systems

Strengthen sustainability outcomes across soil, water and environmental management

Manage agricultural budgets, compliance and operational risk

About the Role

Based at our Forth site, you’ll be a key part of our maintenance team, learning the ropes from experienced electrical professionals who know their trade inside out.

You’ll earn while you learn, completing your Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, while gaining real-world experience in a large-scale, modern agricultural operation.

Payroll Officer

And right now, we’re looking for a Payroll Officer to join us onsite at Forth, right in the heart of where the action happens.
This isn’t a remote, behind-the-scenes desk job.
This is hands-on, people-first payroll at its best position.
You’ll be embedded in a supportive, practical team environment, working closely with the very people who plant, harvest, pack and move our produce every day. You’ll build real relationships, gain a deep understanding of the business, and be part of a workplace where your contribution genuinely matters.
With our recent implementation of Employment Hero, it’s an exciting time to jump in and help shape how payroll supports our growing teams across factory, farm, fleet and maintenance.
What we are looking for

At least 12 months’ experience processing payroll for up to 300 employees (Employment Hero experience is ideal).

A solid understanding of industrial awards and enterprise agreements, including the Horticulture Award.

Experience managing workers compensation processes.

Confident Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.

Strong communication skills and the confidence to build trusted relationships onsite.

A sharp eye for detail, accuracy and compliance.

Factory and Farm Workforce Coordinator

About the Role

As our Factory & Farm Workforce Coordinator, you’ll be at the centre of our operations team, making sure we’ve got the right workforce lined up to match the pace of the paddock and the factory teams.
What you will do:
-
Develop and manage rosters for our casual factory and farm employees and PALM workers
-
Plan workforce allocations across the season and on the day which may include weekends
-
Respond to the changing conditions of harvesting, delivery times and production schedules
-
Deliver inductions for new employees and support training for their roles
-
Ensure employees understand timesheet reporting and be willing to assist them if needed
-
Assist with the management of our accommodation properties that we provide our casual employees
-
Back up our HR Operations Manager when needed
-
This is a role for someone who can think ahead, adjust quickly and stay calm when the plan changes. Because in fresh produce, it often does.
What we are looking for
-
You understand time-critical environments. Maybe you’ve worked in agriculture, logistics, manufacturing or another fast-paced industry where delays aren’t an option.

You have strong workforce planning and rostering experience
-
Sharp problem-solving skills and solid attention to detail
-
Strong administration skills and confidence with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams
-
The ability to communicate clearly with people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds
-
Initiative and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a great team
-
Great organisation skills and the ability to prioritise when everything feels urgent even with that early morning phone call!
