Harvest Moon have recently started growing iceburge lettuce.  Lettuces are planted as seedlings and take 2 months to mature from planting to harvest.   

Lettuces are very temperature sensitive, can be damaged by hot or very cold conditions. Therefore to maintain quality Harvest Moon uses a vacuum cooler to quickly and safely chill the lettuce once harvested.

Harvest Moon grows lettuces for both the Tasmanian retailers and the mainland markets.

Description

·         Lettuce are the only vegetable that cant be frozen, boiled or canned.

·         Lettuce should be purchased when the leaves are “crunchy”.

·         Keep lettuce in a bag in your fridge to maintain freshness.
